Exercising after botox will not reduce the results of injections of Botox. It is recommended for 48 hours without over-exercise and avoiding the sauna/steam room environment. These factors will influence the results. If you’re going to have to get in some workout, make sure you do this the day before the appointment!
You do not want to compromise your Botox results by exercising too soon after your procedure. Planning your exercise schedule around your Botox office treatments is an excellent idea.

- Ensuring you get your workout in the day before or shortly after the appointment.
- Avoid using saunas and steam rooms, which enhance blood flow to the skin and speed up Botox’s dissipating effect.
Things You Should Consider Not Doing After Getting Botox injections?
Until you get Botox, the doctor will give you a rundown of the do’s and don’t want you to obey.
Besides not touching your face, these are the things the professionals highly recommend you should avoid:
- lying down
- bending down
- taking alcohol
- drinking too much caffeine
- rubbing or applying further pressure to the area
- having a hot shower or bath
- using any pain relievers or other blood-thinning medication
- exposing yourself to unnecessary heat conditions, such as those produced by sun lamps, tanning beds, or saunas
- going out in freezing temperatures
- using makeup
- using any tretinoin (Retin-A) products
- resting on your face during sleep, try sleeping on your back
- receiving a facial for the first 2 weeks
- acquiring a spray tan
- applying pressure when cleansing the face or removing makeup
- using a shower cap around the forehead
- getting threading, waxing, tweezing to eyebrows
- or other methods of hair removal
- Getting any form of laser treatment to the face \
- Going swimming in a chlorine pool doing
- vigorous exercise elevates your blood pressure, such as weight lifting, running, and aerobics.
Ignoring Directions Can Have Consequences
Unfortunately, some patients still face difficulties despite their best intentions to follow their doctor’s directions. Swelling, redness, pain, or any adverse effects that persist for more than three days following a Botox injection should be reported to your doctor.
These are usually symptoms that something has gone wrong with the treatment and require medical attention as soon as possible. As noted previously, Botox is just like any other drug out there; hence it might produce adverse effects. Even though most side effects are minor and transient, taking any medication comes with risks. However serious the adverse effects are.
